We are introducing three new features now available to Media Space (media.pdx.edu), Portland State’s streaming media platform.
Is there a tool I can use to do webcam, screen casting, and audio recording in Media Space?
Yes! Media Space now has the CaptureSpace Lite application, which is a webcam, screen, and audio recorder application tied into to the Media Space platform. It is comparable to other software like TechSmith’s Camtasia or Telestream’s Screenflow. CaptureSpace Lite a more robust alternative to the web based webcam recording and screen recording tools already available in Media Space. Learn more about how to use CaptureSpace Lite on our Media Space Tutorials page.
Interactive Video Quizzes
Is there a way to create interactive quizzes with my videos in Media Space?
Yes! Media Space now includes Interactive Video Quizzes, an intuitive and easy to use quiz authoring tool, which allows you to easily create quizzes on top of existing media assets in your Media Space “My Media”. The quiz creator can also monitor the video’s impact via analytics available in “My Media”. Note: As of right now, Video Quizzes do not work when a video is embedded. You will need to link directly to the video in Media Space for quizzes to work. Learn more about how to build Interactive Video Quizzes.
Playback Rate Selector
What do I do if I want a Media Space video to play slower or faster?
Users can now select the video playback rate using a playback rate selector on a video. This allows users to either speed up or slow down a video.
