Portland State’s D2L will be moving to 10.5.6 on February 26th. There will be no downtime during the update. There will be minimal impact on the function of D2L on the day of the update.
D2L’s continuous update for this month offers some exciting new features we would like to share:
Discussions – Score rubrics when assessing discussion posts.
Instructors can now use rubrics to assess discussion posts directly in the Discussion tool! Previously instructors would need to go to the gradebook tool to easily use rubrics to grade discussions. The links to rubrics will no longer appear on the Assess Topic screen by default; rather, instructors have the option of displaying or hiding the rubric links at the top of the main grid to reveal the rubrics. Rubrics associated with a discussions topic now appear on the Topic Score Details modal.
Release conditions – NOT operator support.
New release condition types that support the NOT operator have been added to D2L Learning Environment to support or identify users who have not completed course items. These include “Has not completed checklist”, “No discussion posts authored in topic”, “No submission to dropbox”, “Has not completed an attempt on the quiz”, and more!
Special Access Incorrect Time Display Bug – Fixed.
Previously, when you updated the Start and End dates on the Special Access page, the time selected may have jumped by eight hours every time you saved the page. Now the time does not change when you save the page and remains as expected.
And many more small bug fixes.
